Title: In Order To Exist
Panel 1: Bob (a crudely drawn box robot with a worm sticking out of it) stands over a bed containing JD (a stick figure human) JD’s feathered fascinator hangs on the wall nearby. Despite the sun seen out the window, darkness encroaches at the corners of the room.
Narration: Gentle Reader (Do you like how I call you Gentle Reader? I think it’s neat.) What does it mean to be responsible for a life?
Panel 2: Bob pulls a chair up to the bed. The sun is setting and the darkness grows.
Narration: In the fiction, I fight evil robots and protect humans. But what does that mean out there? I’m not even a real person, but I’m holding on to whatever I can because it keeps me here.
Panel 3: Bob sits patiently on the chair watching over JD as he sleeps. The sun has gone down and the darkness nearly engulfs the room.
Narration: I need my human in order to exist. And… I think he needs me in order to exist, too.
